What if the very things we’re told are “too much” — the brightness, the passion, the sensitivity, the joy — are actually our superpowers?
This exhibition invites you to consider the tension between authentic expression and societal comfort. Why is emotional intensity so often seen as a threat? Why does joy have to be measured, passion moderated, colour dimmed to be accepted?
How much of yourself have you learned to censor — not because it felt right, but because it made others more comfortable?
These works explore the struggle of living with expansive energy in a world that prefers containment. They ask what’s lost when we’re taught to shrink ourselves into shapes that fit, and what might be reclaimed when we resist.
Can we make space for loud joy? For dramatic honesty? For the full spectrum of feeling — even when it’s messy?
And perhaps most importantly: who might we become if we no longer had to mute what makes us vivid?
